Your Lake Vacation Logo Redesign

Project Overview

Your Lake Vacation is a vacation rental company based at Lake of the Ozarks. They had an existing logo but it was dated, heavy, and rooted in a retro style that no longer reflected where the brand was headed. The goal was to modernize it while keeping enough DNA from the original that it still felt like the same company.

The Problem

The old logo carried a lot of visual weight. Retro styling, busy details, and colors that felt more legacy than intentional. For a vacation rental brand trying to attract a modern audience, it was holding the identity back.

Design Decisions

Kept the core color language of the original but pulled everything toward softer, more refined tones. Stripped away the retro ornamentation in favor of something clean and simple that works across every format, from a website header to a yard sign to a phone screen.

Key Challenges

Modernizing without erasing. The original logo had history behind it and the brand had existing recognition locally, so the update needed to feel fresh without feeling foreign to people who already knew the company.

Outcomes

A clean, modern logo system with updated color palette that carries the brand's Lake of the Ozarks identity forward without the visual baggage of the original.
